The stock shocks are good for bump absorption, but they can't keep the truck from bottoming out worth a crap. I've talked with some people about this and one guy used 80wt. oil in them with the nitro setup and it still bottomed out too much. Going with larger bore shocks allows for good bump absorption and almost eliminates the bottoming out issue.
