Gear mesh should not wear out that quick. Did you have it too tight? Using the paper trick to set the mesh works well.
Pinion options are kinda limited since the motor shaft isn't long enough to reach the spur using regular pinions. The Tekno mount makes the motor sit kinda far back. You could find a way to lock the clutchbell to the flyweel (JB-Weld/screws?), or use Mike's two speed pinion adaptor and only use the first gear pinion position.

I kinda like the idea of using the mechanical breaks rather than the motor so I think Im gonna stick with that. Right now im just trying to figure out what the pro's and con's are for using pinion or clutch.
Do you think the Long Shank Pinion from Mega Motor USA would line up?
What pitch pinion would I need to go with Revo Spurs?
