Having red a comparision (in german) between a Neu 1515 (340/360gr) and a lehner 1950 (355gr) stating there is no big difference in Power output (only different efficiency points) i think it's fair to compare a Lehner 2280 and a Neu 1527 looking at their wheight.

Wheightwise a Neu 1527 is more comparable with a lehner 2250. A Lehner 2280 wheighs 200-250gr more then a Neu 1527. It is also longer and has a bigger diameter. I think this allone should be sufficient to tell which motor can handle more power since both do claim efficiencies around 90% and both do only cook with water (or should i say copper ...).

BTW windings of the Neu motors do come from Mexico.

There is a good write up (in german though) on Neu Motors (with pictures and diagrams) with a comparision of a Neu 1515 and a Lehner 1950 on this site. By using babelfish you could translate this website.
