Well while looking through pictures from the RCX show a few weeks ago I saw the pictures of the RC4WD sand rail and fell in love with it but as I am converting a XB8 to brushless at the minute there was no way in hell I could afford it so I started to build my own
The whole project to date has cost me nothing but hopefully over the summer I might get a Sidewinder to drop into it although it weighs a ton so a bigger motor than the 5700/4600 may be needed.
The chassis is welded together with a small inverter welder and the tubing is actually from the old shelf in a fridge that I found (i cut/melted the white plastic off it)
Plans for the chassis were drawn up on a very small piece of paper during a perticulary boring chemistry lesson but as I am not one for mesurements none were taken and most of the work was done by eye. (thats why the roof is slightly lopsided
)
I am using a Cen Mini Madness tranny and most of the rest of the bits are from my Tamiya Dark Impact.
These photos show the first tube welded on and the wheels mocked up.
