I think it should work though. I popped an 1109 5000kv into a 4wd tamiya Wild Ceptor and it did pretty well with 2.2 tires and locked diffs. Motor got up to about 180f on 3s lipo, but I was offroading it and the motor was too small IMO.
JRH, I think the motor you used might be too hot. If you used a lower kv, I think it should work great. I got an 1109 in my Mini Quake and i can't get it hot, no matter how i gear it. Thats why i think its a good possibility for 1/10 app. My Motor is a 1107/2y (3400kv), I plan to get a adapter soon and try it with a Quark 80 esc(Only one i got set up for 3.5mm plugs right now)

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
