Kyosho Inferno ST for Losi XXX NT - 05.19.2008, 01:58 PM

I made a deal last night with a guy for a Kyosho Inferno ST US Sports. I think I got a good deal. Don't know what I have to give the neighbor yet because I traded his Losi XXX NT and my JR xs3 radio w/ Novak XXTra rcvr for the Kyosho. The NT wasn't in the greatest shape no radio with it. I'll have to see what they've been going for on ebay. I was thinking somewhere between 100 - 150. It had the original mach .15 in it and the tires were crap. I'll see if I can dig up a picture of it. In the mean time what would be a fair price for a XXX NT?

The ST is brand new with the GXR28 in it. Hasn't even been started yet. I let him keep the radio system and servos out of it and will use the spektrum radio in it and pick up some decent servos. I talked about doing some trading before he got frustrated with it. The pull start is having problems (the reason it hasn't started yet). So I didn't take advantage of him at his weakest moment when he gave up on it starting. That would just be wrong. Wouldn't it? Tough call because you want to catch them before they start throwing it. Anyways he said he's been wanting a XXX NT for a while. I just so happened to have the neighbors setting on a shelf. I confirmed the neighbor would sell it to me for a fair price and the deal was made. I bought a Duratrax Raze truggy to beat up and experience the Nitro fuel for a while. I was going to convert it to electric when the engine gave out. Change of plans now. Will be converting the Inferno to electric now.

I see shark413 did a converson on the ST-R and didn't want to pollute his thread with questions. I have a few questions for those of you familiar with the Kyosho series.

From what I gathered so far it looks like the ST US Sport is the low end and the ST-R's climb the ladder in price.
Are the parts from the ST-R - RR upgrades and do they fit?
Is there a drill type start conversion that I can put on the GXR3 engine?

Is the GX3R engine any good?
Any idea what the engine may be worth? It would probably be best to not even mess with the engine and sell it as is. Where is that post. "Used and New, Mom said it was okay"

Any thoughts comments on the Inferno ST or Kyosho? I've never owned one so would like to know what your experience with the products are.

Shark413 your conversion looks real good. Laying the servo down and all. I Hope you don't mind some questions thrown your way.
