Yes, we all start somewhere, but many of the questions you see posted have been answered TONS of times (sometimes just a little bit further down the page). Just
try using the search. Not ragging on newbs, just the ones that expect everyone to answer whatever inane question that pops in their heads. Like skyello said; "instant gratification".
As far as the calc goes, everyone is entitled to their opinion. If someone doesn't like it, don't use it. It's there for those who do. It was originally intended to stop (or reduce) the myriad "how fast will my setup go" and "what gearing should I use" type of questions.
