They are not CF they are compressed carbon (aka shredded carbon pressed together, not long strands of carbon bonded together).
Think of it this way:
Compressed carbon is like MDF board while carbon fiber is like layered plywood, one is lots of small particles bonded together, the other is layers of material bonded together, a CF chassis would probably be fine for a 1/10th, but the compressed carbon can shatter after a bad jump. I am not saying it will shatter every time, but if you want something to bash with and be durable, a plastic chassis would probably be preferred over a carbon chassis because the plastic (kyosho or traxxas, or associated rtr/team) would be able to flex a little upon impact where as compressed carbon will crack.
I will admit that the factory team version does come with some better upgrades (at least my t4 did). So it might work out well to but a Factory team version and the buy the plastic chassis tub of the RTR, but that does start to waste money.
