I have the flashpoint. At high temperatures the default setting is very inaccurate for aluminum. My smooth can feigao would read 90F on the can while about 150-160 right where the wires came out. I also measured the temps of my aluminum pots that contained boiling water and the outsides read about 95F. Other than that, the readings are very accurate for nonshiny surfaces.
