The CCBEC is the issue - I have had similar issues with them, actually. I replaced one on my RC8 for the same symptoms(put a UBEC on it and the problem went away). I suspect perhaps some of them can't handle the voltage drop quick enough, and drop the signal temporarily. Castle will almost certainly replace it, though. I have had some that work perfect, but I have had this same issue that you are having. I say run a rx pack or another BEC for now, though. I am almost certain that the BEC is the issue.
Also, to run 4s on the MM, you simply need to disable the BEC and use some sense with the motor and gearing. A fan on the heatsink is also highly recommended. 4s won't need any additional caps, though I use a 1200mf 35 volt cap on some of mine(I have these individually or prewired to some short wires for easy installation - I gotta get them listed on of these days!).
