Actually not a Euro thing. As it was explained to me, with the thin oil you will get the "pillow-like" movement that allows the rear shocks to work those bumps. With the one hole blocked, the shocks will pack on the landings making it a little more firm and not just slamming the rear down. I have tried it both ways and it works. My one friend is running his as just stock 1.3 pistons and I think his rear is a little too soft.
