I'd go with the conversion. It'll cost more money in the long run, but you'll give yourself more options for expandability most likely.

Here's my 2.5 conversion to a gorillmaxx E-Revo.




Cost me about twice what the stock e-revo costs, but it was well worth it to me. A fun project to do.
