That is a fantastic idea. I hadn't even considered using the motor as a lathe, itself.
I'd need some kind of measuring device or method that would ensure a true lathe, though. I guess trying to fit the pinion every so often might work...just work my way in toward the motor.
If anything, I expect to need a larger pinion. Depending on what my choices are, I am hoping I won't have to modify or fabricate anything...not that I am opposed, but wouldn't it be nice?
