Depending on what you want to do, you should probably go dive into some heavy reading on rccrawler.com. Right now, I have 4 Axial based crawlers and wouldn't buy anything else for a 2.2 build unless it was a Berg (http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/23788). While you're looking around, be sure and check out some of my favorite brands/products:

Wheels:
Mayhem Engineering: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=103930

Creat A Crawler (CAC): http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showt...&highlight=cac

Eritex Inc: http://www.eritexinc.com

Chassis:
HBZ Warthog: http://www.hbzusa.com/WARTHOG.htm

Death Metal Garage DCV Pro: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=83451

Vendors I recommend:
RPP Hobby: http://www.rpphobby.com

RCP Crawlers: http://www.rcpcrawlers.com

Also, both amainhobbies.com and stormerhobbies.com have good selections of crawler parts too.

The biggest thing is to read a lot before you dive into your build.
