Just playing devil's advocate here: I just Googled for Hydra 240 bad batch/issues/dead, etc. and nothing shows up. The only thing that popped up that is remotely related is the two threads on here about this.
I smell something fishy here.
Edit: The "boat guy" on the other hand makes for some juicy reading...
