With a geared setup you can maintain the center diff, use a slipper, and also use an outrunner that may not have the optimum kv for your intended battery and desired top speed. A smaller higher kv motor could be used with a smaller "pinion" on the slipper than the center diff "spur" (like a 36t revo spur on the slipper driving a 46t spur on the center diff)
