Actually, I'm still working on mine (also using an MBX5 base). Just got the motor, and currently working on a rear bumper solution. It's not really needed, but it looks better with a bumper of some kind. I'm taking it slow because I don't know exactly what battery I'll be using, and that will dictate the battery tray size and where the receiver box will go.

Have you tried raising the body on your MBX? A 10mm spacer should do the trick I would think. I had to do that on my Hyper8 conversion. Yeah, it's a little taller now, but hardly noticeable unless it's sitting next to a regular Hyper8.
