Like edumakated said. 170 isnt a problem. Your not going to do any damage at those temps so dont get too wound up in it. I pull my buggy off the track at 170 after a long hard rmain and dont even think about it.

If the track surface is significantly different than the one at home you could see some significant temp variation. A ton of traction can pull more amps or a very loose slippery track can tend to make the motor run a bit hotter due to the wheel spin letting the motor rev without a heavly load.
