Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Gamer 7.1
Altec Lansing 4.1 Speaker System (8 years old now and still working great - its a wonder how older stuff has better, longer lasting quality than newers stuff sometimes).
Saitec Eclispse Blue Backlit Keyboard
Logitech G5 Mouse
Samsung 22" LCD - WSXGA 1680x1050, 3000:1 Contrast Ratio, 2ms response time (really a great monitor) (PS. I read someone posted "WSXGA 1920x1200" Thats incorrect. 1920x1200 is WUXGA).
My Old/Current laptop thats about to be replaced:
Dell Inspiron 8600
1.7ghz Pentium M
1GB of Ram (2x512mb stick - not dual channel).
GeForce FX GO5650 128mb (really a great card considering)
80GB 7200RPM Harddrive
1920x1200 WUXGA Screen - 15.4in
New laptop that ships out tomorrow (can't wait to get it!)
Dell Inspiron XPS M1730
17" WUXGA 1920x1200 screen
2.4ghz Core 2 Duo T8300 - 800mhz FSB, 3MB L2 Cache. This is the newer 45nm core.
4GB Ram (2x 2GB Dual Channel) at 667mhz.
Dual GeForce 8700M GT 256mb Video Cards in SLI (total of 512mb)
Windows Vista Ultimate (will be 64-bit)
Creative Sound Card
2x 160GB Hard Drives (yes, this laptop has 2 hard drives, thats no typo).
Blu-Ray player and full DVD Burner combo disc drive
The new laptop is for college. Part of its purpose was replacing my desktop (which I'm not taking with me) so it had to be powerful. I worked all summer to pay for it. Definitely will be my baby for a while. To go along with the laptop I got some Bose Over the Ear headphones so I can drown out noises when I study (and so I can have sound without disturbing other people). Truly great headphones. I also got the Dell XPS Backpack designed specifically for my laptop (this arrived already and its very sturdy).
