Start power seems to help with high geared setups, and with higher pole count motors. Punch control will help with the high current demands present at startup and during driving when the throttle is punched...
Limiting the punch will help the batteries stay a bit cooler and should extend runtimes a bit. I ususallt set it at 50% and go from there. If you have good batteries it helps to tame wheelies on 4wd and spin outs on 2wd. I usually find gearing has the largest effect on runtimes and temps.
