Yeah, going with a 50T spur and a 12T pinion would bring the speed down to a more reasonable 40ish mph. Not sure if 12T is an available tooth count for the clutch setup, but, you can always use an actual pinion instead.

Also, a little bit smaller tires can make a difference.
