I've got a craftsman cordless that worked off 2 12vdc lead-acid batts in series (24vdc). Well batts went dead and killed wall charger too. Total to replace was around $55. So instead I killed a $100 6s lipo
. Probably was lucky it wasn't in my maxx though.
btw I think the short occurred at the point were the wires are soldered to cells. But as mentioned before I think the poor wrapping is to blame probably weakening connection after crashes.
