Don't *think* to hard, you may hurt yourself... Don't see you doing too well on the reading comprehension part of the ACT either...

6mm shaft is for the input of the gearbox, thus it is the motor shaft diameter. Many motor mfgs do this with geared motors.

Also thse shafts are hardened steel, so no machining. You will be stuck with 6mm bore pinions...
