For the hardened shafts, I found that using two modded pins works better. It seems they always break near where the smooth part of the pin meets the threads, so that tells me there is more stress there. So, I shortened two pins and threaded them from each side. Not only does this spread the stress across two pins, if one/both break, the threaded part captures them and you don't have broken pieces floating around the tranny. Worked for me for a long time, and is still working AFAIK (RCM member krunk bought my revo a while back).
