Unfortunately the models been out quite a while now with no true fix. I'm trying to remember what I ultimately did to try and fix it and I think it was going with a solid servo horn on a metal gear servo (one of the Hitecs mentioned here). I don't recall it fully fixed the problem and if you bumped anything going quick with a sidewards glancing blow to the front wheels it would strip servo gears.

One thing I would say is don't waste any money on the FT stuff as it is soft and will develop more slop over time.
