Ever seen a trailer axle where they have that little pin that goes through a hole in the side of the nut right through the bolt and out the other side? You could try something like that if all else fails. A lock nut that would fit would be too large for RC use. It would look like a regular nut, not a low-profile aluminum thing.

RC8 has locking (nyloc) 17mm wheel nuts.. and i dont think drilling a hole would be best as i would need to drill through the axle and find a way to insert and remove pins
