At the 14 min mark my pack had used 4508 mAh (confirmed this on recharge). I had zero warm up laps and plugged in the car at 30 seconds to start. I drove as smooth as possible and tried to avoid excess movements and speed where necessary. By my calculations, I would have needed 5152 mAh to run 16 minutes (would like a little extra comfort plus a warm up lap) + extra to not run the pack down completely. I am concerned the weight of a 4s 6000 mAh pack would be too much.

I just bought a new MBX6 for next summer so I know I will have some weight savings. Until that arrives and is built/shaken down, I am currently using my Kyosho mp777 WC.

Specs as it was raced:

Kyosho mp777 WC
Castle Mamba Max with lowest motor timing, no drag brakes
Neu 1512/2D/F
Neu 30C 5000mAh 4S1P pack
46t Kyosho Plastic Spur
car was geared to top out at 40.6mph with the 12T (quals) and 37.2mph with the 11T (main)

I was having such a good race too. I got tangled up early, worked my back up to 5th but ran out of juice. I need to finish these races and represent the flashlights better
You should make it with a 4s 6000 pack, but over time you probably will degrade the pack and still have a problem. The issue is that the 1512 2d is a pretty high amp motor at 120amps. A great motor, but it is not efficient and good for longer run times. This is why a lot of people are switching over to the 1512 2.5d which only pulls 78amps and other low kv/higher voltage setups. You can EASILY run 15 minutes with a 2.5d on a 4s 5000 pack plus 1-2 minutes of warm up. You just need to bump the gearing up a tad to compensate for the lower RPMs but you will have a much more efficient setup.

I was running the 1512 1.5d on 4s 5000 earlier this year and could only get about 13 or so minutes. I switched to the 1512 3d and a 5s 4000 pack and can get 20 minutes of hard race time.
