I think its a great start.

I only have a couple recommendations. At about 21 - 22 seconds, I would add a fade that goes from the TDC57 pictures into the battle truck in the next clip. Personally, I don't think its too many effects. I think the transitions between the shots need to be a little smoother, but other than that, it is looking great so far. And I'm really looking forward to the final video.
