ROAR is already setting their 1/8 electric class rules and already have them basically decided upon. Should be released soon from what I hear.

I havent had time to read that whole thread yet, but the first page seems to be going completely the wrong direction from what i needs to be. IMO. I'll try and get through the whole thing sometime this weekend and add some comments. But generally....

15 minute mains. Battery swaps are ridiculous. Ive tried to manage them when racing in 30 minute nirto mains and it just doesnt work well IMO. Just set the race length to a reasonable length than can be achieved on a reasonable size battery and be done. The 30 minute mains are silly IMO. It becomes a war of atrition, not driving skill. It means get out front and then try not to break. How many 30 minute mains actually are a race at the end. I'm used to seeing them with laps separateing the top few spots more often than seconds separating them.

Should be open voltage(at least up to 6s) and just set a battery weight limit. A 4s 5000 pack is equal in weight and energy to a 5s 4000mah and 6s 3333mah pack. They all have to same potental energy so there really isnt an advantage of one over the other, so why limit voltage. Hard case packs are more of a detriment to safety rather than a help. They hide the cells so you cant see any potential issues until its too late, they insulate the cells making them build damageing and potenetially dangerous heat more quickly and make it more difficult to detect any heat issues. If you measure the outside of the hard case and it checks hot, you can bet the inside temp is much hotter and potentaily in the danger zone before it can even be detected from the outside of the hard case.

I think they seem to be making sense on the motors so far.

I'll post these comments over there after reading the whole thread.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
