Ok, I will try to answer all of the questions... I just finished a lst conversion and could not be happier with the setup...

First, the tdr mount can be setup to run just about any motor. Contact him before you buy and specify that you need the center part of the mount to use a 30mm bolt spacing and fit m4 thread bolts. He is super helpful and the mount is top notch.

Big Joes are about 6.5 inches tall, so about the same height as the stock lst tires. You will have to use 40 series wheels, but the lst2 420 wheels will work fine.

My setup uses motor brakes, I bought the tdr single speed hub, and use 63/24 gearing. With your tires that would get you around 40mph. The only issue I can see is the 6mm shaft on the kb motor. The only easy to get pinions I have found are from sdp-si and kershaw designs, and all they have are 18 and 20t pinions. I have had a machinist turn the kb shaft down to 5mm successfully, paralyzed has that motor. Most likely the best way to have a decent selection of gearing options. FYI, the tdr mount will not fit any less than a 24t pinion with the 63t spur...

Not sure if you want to do the FOC on your tranny, or retain the manually selectable high/low setup. I opted for the FOC, and it is very simple and light weight. Either way you want to remove the reverse gears and servo (for battery tray mounting), and without the FOC you will have to shim the space leftover on the input shaft, and lock the reverse slider in place. The FOC is the best bet, but i am working on removing the reverse stuff from my lst tranny and leaving the high/low selector (for my other lst project).

The MMM will be fine, I run a v3 model on 6s and it does everything great and the fan never comes on for me, good cool setup. The kb8xl is a great motor, especially considering the price.

aA far as the batteries go, I would go with the rhino, both have the same discharge ability (around 100 amps cont) but the rhino has more capacity (mah) for longer runtimes and is a bit cheaper. It does weigh slightly more, but not much.

Another bit of info is that fitting a large lipo between the radio box and the tranny will require removal of the radio box, or at least cutting the hinges off. My lipo is 44mm wide, and that is about the max you will fit (tray sides will add a bit and fill the rest of the space).
