I kind of skipped right over the whole plastic era. When we were kids the Erector sets were the phase. Lots of metal and good old fasion motors and gears to get it moving, and nuts and bolts galor. Probably why I became a mechanic and thrived in the engineering field. I tried the Lego fad, but just could not get enough out of it to keep me satisfied. Then when they came out with all of the premade kits I thought how in the hell is anyone suposed to find their creative side if everything is already done for you??? No tools, and it just snaps together. What fun is that? I looked at it as just another invention to make us lazy and forge up more incompitence. I guess I am just one of the old school guys. All of the plastic stuff just breaks too easy for me.
