currently i run the RCPD conversion using a 46T Plastic Kyosho spur and a Neu 1512 2.5D motor, 2050Kv. The ESC is a Mamba Monster, version 1 that still works great (knock on wood). I have had zero issues with the 46T spur being plastic, as have others who have used even more powerful motors than the Castle 2200kv motor. I have zero wear on my kyosho spur gear.
reason I would like to use the plastic kyosho spur gear is that I like the fact that it keeps the car much quieter than without it. You do of course have to slightly modify the gear to get it to work, but barely anything at all. you also need to run extra shims in the diff (all explained in the RCPD conversion).
thanks for the info. The conversion looks really good, and if I still with AE, could be an option for the RC8T combined with the CC combo powerplant.
