Regarding the glued tires on alum -
I’ve used denatured alcohol on polished aluminum wheels - no problems on finish. Cut tire off along side wall and let the wheel soak in the alcohol (use gloves) pull off the tire once it releases (eachside). You may need to go back with a hard edge (like a flathead screwdriver) to scrape some off.
Also I’ve just boiled the wheels in water. Same as above – cut off the tire and boil the wheel. Don’t burn yourself and make sure the water doesn’t boil off - it will char the wheel - this could also create some bad smells
