I know what you mean... I listen to metal mainly because I love the
music. If a song's melody/rhythm is good enough then I will tolerate the "singing" based on that alone. Most of the time I find that the lyrics at least follow the rhythm of the song, and that's fine; whether I can comprehend them or not. It's the irrhythmic* screaming that I just can't stand.
*I can't find this word anywhere on Dictionary.com but I'm certain it exists.
