Electronic techie question?? - 01.24.2009, 01:01 AM

OK so I am getting ready to complete one of my Maxx projects, and what I have setup for this one is a dual Dewalt 970 V-Twin power plant. My gearing is 48T(pinion)/65T(spur), and I also have 32T pinions with a Novak superduty ESC. It is going to be installed on an RCM EXT chassis, an RCM EXT suspenssion set, with RCM hybrid diffs, hardened HPI gear set, custom RC Alloy driveshafts, with HPI Beadlock wheels. All driven through a two speed (all metal) E-Maxx tranny. This thing is going to be a monster. The question I have is this.

In order to keep the high frequency noise down on the motors it is suggested/required that you install three CAP's on each motor, right? My concern is about the size of those CAP's. Is there a specific CAP size/level that is required by the size of the motor? What I have on each motor right now is 3 CAP's labled with a (1) on them. One cap between the (-) connection and the can(ground), one between the (+) connection and the can(ground) & one between the (+) & (-) connections. So is that sufficiant, or am I doing something wrong? Will these CAP's be ok for this scinario, or do I have to install something smaller? I would like to avoid frying anything if I can help it. I know BrianG or one of the other masters out there must have the skinny on this subject. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
