You know, one of the easiest ways to take a lot of stress off the Savage drivetrain is to go center diff (this would totally solve your tranny issue  ). This truck is still using Savage 25 ring and pinion gears, just with the hardened bevel gears and aluminum cup from the Savage X. It's using the Savage 25 stock bulks too!

I just picked up a set of the integy rear hubs, hopefully they work well... Must be stronger than the rear tie rod (that I usually break on my maxx and lst1)...
