My advice is that if you can't afford $280 right now then either start saving or find a new hobby! The Novak system isn't horrible and would be controlable for someone new to brushless but the price is about the same as the MMM combo. The old saying "you get what you pay for" really does apply here! At the very least get a good motor, a cc/neu, neu, Tekno neu, or Medusa. Stay away from the lower end motors, you'll need a RC-M heatsink clamp to keep it together and keep temps in check and at the price of the motor and clamp you might as well get a good motor for $10-20 more. The hobbywing esc might be ok if you keep gearing reasonable but again you might as well get something that will serve you well now and into the future! The Mamba Monster combo is going to be a torque monster so if your looking for a little less torque the Mamba Monster and a Medusa 36-60-2000 or a 36-70-2000 would be good choices as well. The 60mm version should be good for speeds of 35-40 and still have decent temps, the 70mm will be cooler and could take a little more gearing and get you over 40MPH. Of course this is all just my opinion but most here I beleive are and will say close to the same thing.
