I've ran alot of different "land vehicle" outrunner setups and I've never had a motor fail because of debris.

With the E maxx and the E Revo, the motor sits toward the front of the platform and in the middle. It seems to be pretty protected there from UFO's.

I can see how some setups would be more at risk. Such as being low, in the back and center. That's like dirt central.
The 30mm and 34mm motors do have 5mm shaft and 25mm bolt spacing. The larger motors have 6mm or 8mm shafts, and the smaller motors (22mm) have 3.2mm shaft.

One of the issues with outrunners is that the magnets are hanging way out -- they tend to collect stuff we would never think they would pick up... there are literally billions of little iron filings in streets and alleys everywhere (shed from cars...)
