Not sure what you can do with the Mega motor. Where did you buy it from and have you used it yet? Might have luck selling it and picking up a Medusa motor to fit in the 36mm can.

For the battery wires I use Deans as they are common. But Losi or Traxxas are popular too now.

For the motor wire you actually can fit the 4mm females onto the 10 gauge MMM wire. The MMM wires are braided so well that you can fold down each braid (kinda like peeling a banana) and you will have one braid left in the center. Cut that braid and twist the remaining braids together fairly tight and the wire will be able to fit nice and snug into the 4mm connector.

In the pics below you can see I use Novak 12 Gauge wires and changed made the motor wires enter at 90 degrees by enlarging the solder hole on the 6.5mm male connection. I got this idea from other smarter members on this forum.
