Yes, it is, and parallel would be the way to go. But for the price, you can't go wrong (compared to TP). Also see here for inexpensive 10C Lipos:
http://www.his-hershobbies.com/page/page/978479.htm They will be making parallel packs, as well as higher series packs. 11.1v and 21amps continuous for $37 isn't bad! To make a 6s pack for a 9XL, you would only have 4 packs in total, so only $148, including taps! That's for 42amps continuous and 22.2v (nominal)! Only downside is that their form isn't the greatest.
