I like the EZRun ESCs and Mike just got the 150A ones in stock! NiMH batts will not provide enough current for a BL setup. It will work, but it's handicapping the setup. You really need LiPos. If you plan to run a max of 4s, the 80A will work fine. It's not rated for over 4s. If you plan to run 5s or 6s, get the 150A. I have both 80A and 150A ESCs and both run great and really cool.
If you can afford it, I'd recommend a Medusa 60mm or 70mm motor instead. That'd be a killer setup that's still fairly low cost.
