Oh, there's no doubt that Serpent is extremely sweet. Doing a conversion on one of those would be great.
Unfortunately the old pocket book isn't up for it!
The HPI is only 17" long (not sure what scale that is), while the Serpent's a 1/10th.
I like the looks of the HPI because it appears that a crash isn't going to disintegrate it like the real ones do. Parts availability should also be a lot better for me. (I do all the buying I can through my LHS, they've been great to me, and I want to support the local business whenever I can). Their mention of other front wings / bodies & that they showed it at the IRL race in Longbeach makes me think they'll probably have Indycar styling available at some point.
(Yes, I know, the IRL cars have been called "hideous crapwagons" by quite a few people, but it's the series I watch most, regardless. And the F1 styling HPI did choose is really one of the better looking openwheel designs they could have chosen).
I suppose if HPI puts too high of a price on this one, that will bring something like the Serpent back into play.
