Yeah, not too bad of a deal. If you catch the right auction you might skate by with a cen diff in the low 40's. Since I've been watching them the last couple of weeks they seem to be on an average around 55.00 a peice. I've already spent 50.00 on new 13t bevel gears and a new bulk head. It would have been a much more pleasurable experience if I would of just bought the cen diff to begin with. The bevel gear stripping has been a pia. Only had two good runs on it since I got it.
Got fed up today. Yesterday had a decent run and started to get the engine dialed in and the suspension/steering where it was controllable. Then I got home and got everything ready and three minutes into the run the front bevel stripped again. I am not doing the bad of a job shimming these guys either. I've gottens some practice lately with the strr and this guy. After this episode I tore both diffs out of it and put in the Kyosho STRR ring gear and pinion in it. They have the spiral cut on them and have held up really great in the truggy. I'll see if the can handle the weight of the savage.
