I know, I'm seeing more flaws in my design the more I look at it. Unfortunately I didn't discover all the savage threads with mounting packs up front until after the trans position was established. And I put the trans up front because the driveshaft has to be a smaller diameter than the rear to clear the steering linkage, and keeping it shorter should make it more durable with the smaller diameter and big brushless power. That and I didn't feel like attempting to make a metal shaft just yet, cutting and glueing a couple plastic ones together is much easier. I thought maintaining the same F+R weight distribution as stock would be ok, turns out more experimentation is required.
Since its raining I'm going to move the batt as close to the motor as possible for now. I can't afford new packs and I don't want to split them so that'll have to do. I wish I had an extra 1/2in in front of the trans, then I could mount it there.
Overall I'm pretty happy with it though. I love the concept and will probably redesign the chassis after I scrounge up some more scrap alum. I'll just try to get out to dirt more often and adjust my driving style on the street till then.
