Personally I think you need a cartidge system - Mount the battery in a cartridge that has a deans connector than the had required female powerpoles on the outside.

Cartridge slides into the holder and engages with male connections.

Also think you need a mult-dimensional locking mechanism so that force in multiple directions simulateously is reqiured to eject tray - I don't want it ejecting when lawn darting.
