I can imagine a craft fellow such as myself would take a heat gun and some wooden wedges and heat the sides of the trays up and force the wedges together thus stretching the sides of the tray but maintaining the flat front. Or section them and rivet some al to extend them.

As for a drop in solution I am not aware of anything...
