well its been a while between updates. i have recently gone the electric motor brake route and ditched the mech brakes. i must say the car seems a little more brisk. or it could be the shock rebuild i did either way its zippy.

i still have the clutch bell but i gutted the clutch shoes and managed to turn something on the lathe to act as a locking adaptor. i used 2 dowel pins either side and drilled 2 holes into the clutch bell and into the locking bush. so i essentially have direct drive with reverse. it lasted for a few weeks up until 10 minutes ago. this motor has some serious power,so much that it has pushed one of the tapered steel dowels through a thick layer of devcon and almost all the way out!!!!!!

this is seriously insane!

the dowels were a press fit also and the layer of devcon was insurance.

so...now back to the drawing board it is for me.... i am amazed and annoyed at the same time.
