sorry... they grinded it down to 5mm. depending how cool the guys are they do it for a few bucks. in my case it was a bit difficult for them, cos the results of "my work" didn't make it easier for them...
I don't think that you can seperate the magnet from the shaft without destroying it. on the other hand, I had some loose rotors and glued them to the shaft.
