Nice, did you get that 5s pack from Mike? I wonder if he will get some 6s and 3s packs in?
These packs are seriously not much more than A123 packs for the energy stored, ~22% higher cost per Wh over A123's. Also, if a last generation lipo that were taken care of would last between 150-200 cycles, they say these new packs last 4x cycle life... that's 600-800cycles, awesome. Now, all they need to do is make them intrinsically safe... but, they would need a different chemistry for that.
I yearn for the day when A123's next gen. battery comes to market... 200C/400C capable(basically 100% efficient), and 400+Wh/kg. The M1 cell holds ~100Wh/kg real world energy density... and these new lipo's hold between 140 - 150Wh/kg (depending on C rating/type).
