There should be the option to not have to raise the center diff from stock. It should allow the use of plastic spurs. In some cases you can't slide the pinion gear so that it aligns with the plastic spur. I've gotten the plastic spur to work with a .5mm shim between the rear center diff bearing and the spur and a spacer between the motor and the mount.
i just built my 4th 8ight RCM/Losi conversion, and i've never had an issue with using the plastic spurs with Mike's mount, or a pinion alignment issue. here's a close up of an example:

mine seem to fit fine.

as far as getting the angle of incline to decrease on the driveshafts, you can also lower it some more by eliminating the "sort of L shaped losi spacer" they include in the kit that fits under the mount. in the pic i just put up, it's there, but it dosen't need to be. i've since taken them all out of mine. here's it without it in the one i just built:

I'd like to be able to use more than just 2 spurs with the losi chassis ie: the 45t and 43t, but it's fine with me as i can always use smaller pinions.

what bothers me about the tekno conversion is the lack of choices i have if i want to gear up. i've never seen a 25t long bore pinion yet. other than that, the tekno conversion looks like a work of art.

also, FYI to some of the people that buy the factory rollers, be it the 1.0 RTR or Pro or 2.0.... i hear alot about factory building issues with them (not the kits obviously )

Everything from stripped screws to threadlock parts that won't loosen even with a micro-torch ...also, another common one is all the binding they get in the drivetrain. i've had everyone of those happen to me and quite a few other people have complained of similiar issues as well on other forums.

i've had to re-build every one of my pre-built rollers because of various mess-ups on the factory builds. some examples are: the diff spacers holding the diffs in are being installed incorrectly, the driveshaft's being threadlocked with the roll pins off center, the center diff being tightened so it wobbles, thus rubbing against the mount, the axle carrier bearings not being pressed in enough and creating even more drag...the pinion couplers being nearly impossible to remove, etc.....i really hope they consider releasing a 2.0 kit. I love the 8ight, but i should have bought all kits to begin with. it's a lengthy build, but it saves on alot of headaches.

here's a few pics to enjoy of my conversions:
